I can't tell, although I am surprised PS3 didn't sell more, 360 is not all that far behind it, I expected the slim to rape 360 in sales, even in the USA, and that just didn't happen.

IBM, and it is made to crunch numbers in a manner consistent with HD video decoding and streaming. The only thing its alien to is game code. Thus developers have to jump through hoops to get game code to run on it since it was more designed as a number crunching dumb CPU, unlike the smart multipurpose(and more expensive) CPUs of say AMD or Intel.

I have to say this, these screenshots are not accurate, you have to download both Demos and compare them if you want to see the true difference between the two.
360s two biggest games have it, Gears and Halo, and they don't even take a hit in graphics. The problem with Sony is that they demand their devs put proving the GRAPHICAL power of the cell above all else, including gameplay. Where are the 1420p 120fps games we all thought the cell would be pumping out with no problem? Are killzone and uncharted even 1280p at 60fps? Reason for this is Cell was oversold, so Sony has to over compensate, make the games pretty and everyone thinks the cell is god, ...
I dont want that crap in games like Gears or Halo, cant they make little girly Wii style games for the kids and grannys who want to play like that without a controller?

really make you appreciate the hard work of developers like Naughty Dog and Guerrilla games. The PS3 has clear handicaps when it comes to running game code, requiring very crafty and innovative manipulation of code to get the same results that are easily obtained from the competition. The good developers (ND GG) don't let that stop them, and Im sure they get lots of help from Sony as well.
